    DIANA (Companion Piece to ACTEON)
    Outdoor Sculptures

    Artist: Paul Manship, American (1885-1966)
    Medium: bronze

1940, 85x15x23 inches, Collection of The Norton Museum, West Palm Beach, Florida. Although the patina was severely degraded it was determined that most of it could be recovered, saving the delicate original nuances, and, most importantly, the artist’s original work

Using solvents and non-ionic soaps, the surface was cleaned of minor corrosion products, old degraded waxes and air-bourne debris. It was then waxed with specially formulated waxes designed to withstand the intense heat of the subtropics where surfaces reach 165 degrees in the summer sun.

A rigorous maintanence schedule is required in situations such as this.
